Dr. Denise A Assogna established her endodontic practice in Poughkeepsie , New York in 1992. She is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she completed a two-year specialty training program in endodontics. Dr. Assogna attended the four year program at SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine where she earned her D.D.S. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Philosophy from Fordham University.Dr. Assogna’s teaching experiences include: Clinical Instructor at the Endodontic Program at SUNY Stony Brook and undergraduate & post graduate clinical instructor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Since 2002, Dr. Assogna has served as Director of the endodontic curriculum and clinical Instructor at Castle Point VA. She continues to lecture at Harvard, Stony Brook, local dental meetings, and study clubs. She has also served as Secretary of the Dutchess County Dental Society for several years. Dr. Assogna completes several hours of continuing education annually. This illustrates her dedication to keeping up to date with the latest technology and techniques to ensure the best possible care is delivered to her patients. Dr. Assogna and Dr. Mejia were voted Top Endodontists for 2008 and 2009 by their peers.

Dr. Luz E Mejia joined The Assogna Endodontic Specialty Group in 2003. Prior to joining the group, Dr. Mejia worked in private practice in White Plains, New York and in Manhattan, NYC. Dr. Mejia worked as a General dentist before obtaining her specialty in Endodontics. She earned her certificate in endodontics from NYU College of Dentistry. She taught the undergraduate dental students at NYU and continues to be updated by taking annual endodontic educational courses. Dr. Mejia completed her General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center after attending dental school at NYU College of Dentistry and completing her final year as a member of the Honors Endodontic Program. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Manhattan College in Riverdale. Dr. Mejia enjoys colunteering her time treating underpriveleged patients in a dental outreach program in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Assogna and Dr. Mejia were voted Top Endodontists for 2008 and 2009 by their peers.

Dr. Senzer received his B.A. from Hunter College and his M.A. from CUNY at Brooklyn College. He taught Biology and Chemistry at Northport High School and at New York City Community College before and while earning his D.D.S degree and his Certificate in Endodontics from Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine. His primary practice is in midtown Manhattan. He moved to Garrison in 1998 and although he now lives in Manhattan he cannot keep away from the Hudson Valley. He has been practicing part-time in the Assogna Dental Specialty group since 2003. He is also active outside of practice, teaching Post Graduate Endodontics from 1975 to 1998 and Ethics from 1992 to present at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and serving in 2009 as Secretary and in 2010 as Vice President of the New York County Dental Society. He also serves as a delegate to the American Dental Association, representing the New York State Dental Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and of the New York Academy of Dentistry. His pro bono work includes treating children of the Boysí and Girlsí Club and participating in the Donated Dental Services Program.

Doctor Nader Azizi is a California grown, recent New York explant endodontist. After more than a decade of combined experience in providing both general dentistry and specialized endodontic care, he has joined our practice as a setting for his provision of specialized endodontic care in an environment supportive of his patient–centered philosophy of practice. Dr. Azizi received his Baccalaureate of Science degree in Biochemistry (with honors) from the University of California, Davis. He received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, Certificate of Advanced Studies in the specialty of Endodontics, and Masters of Science degree in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences from the University of California at San Francisco’s School of Dentistry (UCSF).
His specialized technical experience is based on the best and the most recent available research evidence and spans through all aspects of non–surgical and surgical endodontics. His contemporary approach to care is supported by his continued emphasis on being both an educator and a life–long student. His commitment and contributions to dentistry and endodontics were recently recognized by the community of his students and peers at UCSF School of Dentistry awarding him the Faculty of the Year title in 2007. Dr. Azizi has lectured to groups at various institutions on topics ranging from the science and art of dentistry and endodontics, to those of his own research interests and publications. His decade long pro bono personal involvement in providing both care and supervision at free community dental clinics stand as a testament to his conscientious support of those in most urgent need of care, and his public community at large. Dr. Azizi spends part of his spare personal time attending to his hobbies which include traveling, cooking, reading and sports.
