Advanced Technology and Microscopes
All rooms are equipped with Zeiss OMI Pico dental operating microscopes which allow enhanced magnification and illumination of the inside of your tooth. Each room also has its own digital radiograph unit, ASI dental unit complete with air-driven high and low speed, fiber optic handpieces, rotary motor, ultrasonics, system B, obtura, dual micro irrigators, micro air syringes, and curing light.
A sophisticated ultrasonic unit is integrated in each operatory for root end surgery, non-surgical re-treatment, to remove broken instruments, posts, chase calcified canals, and other procedures. Diamond coated ultrasonic tips result in faster and smoother retro preparation.
Nickel-Titanium Rotary Instruments
The degree of cleaning and shaping determines the success of root canal therapy. Files that are used to remove harmful material from the root canals and give them the correct shape are made of a unique alloy of nickel-titanium. Hand and rotary instruments are used along with liquid antimicrobial agents help maximize the removal of bacteria within the root canal system.
ProRoot® MTA is a revolutionary root canal repair material that is a unique improvement over other materials used for repair. Made up of fine hydrophilic particles that set in the presence of water, ProRoot® MTA seals off all pathways between the root canal system and surrounding tissues, significantly reducing bacterial migration. Its excellent biocompatibility with the dentinal wall and surrounding tissue allows for a predictable clinical healing response. Our doctors use ProRoot® MTA for:

• root-end filling
• apexogenesis and Regeneration
• apical plug during apexification

Each operatory is equipped with a Carl Zeiss microscope which allows for microscopic examination and microsurgical techniques. Magnifications (up to 25X) under strong illumination permits visualization of even the finest details of your tooth, details which are simply not visible with the naked eye i.e. all root canals, isthmuses, perforations, fractures and microleakage. Enhanced magnification and fiberoptic illumination provides an unparalleled level of precise endodontics and superb diagnostics for you.
We are able to photograph and capture video of your tooth so we can document your situation and better explain and share the information with you and your dentist or other health care providers.
Digital Imaging/ Digital X-rays
Blondin-Assogna Endodontics carefully chooses which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities in between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Blondin-Assogna Endodontics utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 90 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us retrieve valuable diagnostic information. We may be able to see cavities better.
Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to your dentist, other specialists or insurance companies. Digital images are viewed on a computer monitor instead of holding a conventional 35mm film up to a light therefore offering more precision.
CS 8100 3D Extraoral Imaging System
The CS 8100 3D extraoral imaging system gives our practice the ability to capture both high quality 2D and 3D digital images, all while limiting dose exposure, which means a safer and quicker dental visit for our patients. Digital images are available for viewing almost immediately and some images can even be captured in as little as seven seconds, using 50 percent less radiation than standard image capture.
The true-to-life, high resolution images that 3D technology provides means that Blondin-Assogna Endodontics has the most accurate view of patients’ anatomy for improved diagnostic, treatment planning and surgical predictability.
