Infection Control

Sterilization-picture-022Patient safety is paramount at Blondin-Assogna Endodontics. Whenever possible, disposable instruments are used. Non-disposable instruments are fully sterilized, in-house, by a hospital grade autoclave. The sterilization process begins by thoroughly removing debris from instruments using an ultrasonic cleaner. Instruments are rinsed, bagged and sealed with indicator tape, placed in the rapid cycle statim or conventional autoclave and sterilized using high heat and pressurized steam. Indicator tape changes color after exposure to the proper sterilization environment to ensure each individual package has been thoroughly sterilized. As a machinereassurance to you, packages are unwrapped in front of you after you are seated for treatment. In addition to routine maintenance procedures, we employ an independent lab to monitor the efficacy of our autoclaves.
